Surrounded by greenery - can you believe that all these tea leaves are picked by hand?

The Goda Tea Farm, which owns and farms this wonderful tea plantation, is located in the town of Yame on the island of Kyushu. Goda is a tea manufacturing company – a family business that spans 5 generations with a history of more than 100 years.

There are many different types of Japanese tea.
Goda-san says that he wants people to understand and appreciate the goodness of Yame tea.
The Goda Tea Farm is famous for producing kabuse tea.Kabuse refers to a traditional approach of growing tea under shade for a number of weeks before harvesting, to prevent exposure to direct sunlight.Goda-san places special attention on kabuse as his teas have a very different flavor due to this process.

The Goda Tea Farm is also very particular about fertilizers. Normally, the fertilizer used in tea production is made from fermented fish that has been discarded, but Goda-san only uses fresh bonito. Additionally, Goda-san only uses microbial pesticides that leave no chemical residue.

The degree of care that Goda-san and his family put into their products is nothing short of amazing.
From the natural ingredients that they use to nurture the plantation, to the careful methods of cultivation used to enhance the flavor, to then picking each leaf by hand.

The way they care for their tea plants is clear from the techniques that have been passed on through the generations.
